Monitors in front of Brick Wall

Post by sustainable »

Hi Folks,

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Im finally getting around to treating my room and have a question regarding the brick wall
that is behind my monitors. Overall the room sounds very live and slappy in the mid range.
I still have to build some panels for the side walls (first reflection point) but I had a question about the
brick wall.

Some sources say that brick is actually not too bad for reflections due to its porous nature
but I am considering treating this wall to see how it changes the sound.

I was thinking of putting three 2'x4' x 2" thick Corning 703 panels
on that wall. 1 behind each monitor and one in the middle, vertically.

I've linked a picture of the setup for reference.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Could you give us a better view on the whole room? A drawing would do.
Aren't your speakers positioned too high? (or your desk too low)
