Best place for acoustic treatment (pictures)

Whats up people,

I just moved into a new apartment and the acoustics are way different from the place I was just in, which makes me think it is time to try and treat my room so i can balance it better. It sounds as if there is a significant amount more reverb in the sound compared to my last place. As you can see from the picture, it is a fairly narrow area.

My question is what are the best places to place foam to try and balance out the room acoustically. I am not sure how much I am going to be able to afford, so it would help if you could reccomend the most important places first. Also, is there anything else I can do to help treat this room aside from purchasing foam. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

What are the room dimensions? I'm wondering if you can turn it the other way.

Hi "oxygen". Please check the forum rules about posting: You seem to have forgotten something! :)

I'm with Eric on this for sure: it would be much better to turn your layout sideways, so that your speakers are firing down the length of the room, not across the width. You'll have many problems with that layout as it is right now, no matter how you treat it.

Sorry about that, I appreciate the help though. I think I am going to turn it all around so the speakers fire down the long way of the room. I think my next step is going to be purchasing some Auralex Studio Foam (link at the bottom), and possibly some bass traps. I am just trying to make the acoustics as balanced as possible and minimize the reverb in here. Any suggestions on placement for them to get the best results? Thanks!
