Has anyone ever put together an informal exam to test people's knowledge of acoustics and isolation? (not including college exams)
I'm just wondering if that might be a nice tool for people to test their designers with, as to avoid "chop shop" style contractors and such. Just because someone's cheap, it doesn't make them good (or bad, for that matter).
Does anyone know if there's a good one on the internet somewhere? I'd like to take one to gain confidence in the areas I know and isolate the problem areas so I can learn more.

Re: Acoustics and Isolation Exam
1) "what acoustic forums are you active on?"
presumably someone (in today's world) who knows what they're doing would be active on one or more acoustics forums where their peers are "critically examining" (ah hem) their ideas (and vice versa). plus they may have links to their published papers etc.
2) "what are your references?"
best bet with any contractor to ask this question.
