I was wondering what do I do first, put in the flooring or work on the walls? I do not plan to make double walls, I'm considering floating the floor. thanks -B

Have you checked out the studio construction section of john's site? Here is probably the most applicable construction story -
http://www.johnlsayers.com/Studio/Mainpage/MP-Long.htm
And the main page -
http://www.johnlsayers.com/Studio/index.htm
Look around, check all the pix, read all the text, and try to draw a basic plan. Building anything without first having a plan is nuts. I've yet to see a plan, and don't have time to draw one for you. If John doesn't get to it either, you will need to work on that part. I can tell you what will/won't work, but you need to at least read up on the information that's already here, most of it is in the "sticky" section at the top of the page... Steve

Ok, thanks Steve. I made a rough sketch in the studio design section, under the topic "control room ceiling height" if you haven't already checked it out. thanks again -B

Yeah, I saw that but it's nowhere near enough to build from - if you can look around some, figure out the level of sound isolation you want/need, I can help you decide on what comes first and how... Steve
