Do I need to change this?

Ok, so I have been working on my basement studio in my spare time
and took a stab at building some slot resonators. Mobile boxes cuase these things may end up moving at some point.

So I get these things built and put up and then my buddy Bryan tells me "hey. that aint symetrical."
And of course it is NOT.
*sigh*
my question is is this a major deal.. do I need to build new boxes?
As you can see from the pics I got a little better at building them as I went on. the first one is pretty durn ugly. :D

my thinking when building these was that I wanted to make the most use of my space. On the east wall there is a ledge about halfway up.

So I built the three little guys up to the ledge and then I built the one big fella that goes across the top of them. It's like 14 inches deep. I figured a nice deep one would be good at cathin some of that low junk flying about. :)

On the other side I have a box that jsut goes from floor to cieling and is 8 inches deep.

So again, is this differnence in symetry a big deal? should a yank the big box and make everything symetrical?

sorry for my wordy post. I get like that.

They look fine to me mate - appears though that they are all the same slot width - maybe some variation in the gaps would broaden the absorption??

how does it sound??

cheers

well, my only basis for compairson is how it sounded before I began all of this. In contrast to the way it sounded before it is awsome. :)

There is a bit of a dip around 120 and a bit of a hump around 400 or so.

There is some variation in the slot width, but perhaps I need to go back and be a little more precise. I should be able to yank one of the smaller slats out of each box and reposition stuff.

thanks for the help!

The look of the place only matters if you want it to.

My studio is ugly as hell, but it sounds good. I'm recording sound, not video, so I don't worry about it much. *snicker*
