Welllllll OK, if you insist!!!! :!: Personally, I think I'll skip on that one... I used to use shampoo, and that worked fine for me (don't recall which brand!), but I haven't dealt much with vinyl in many years.

Did you try this "wood glue" method yourself, John?

No Stuart - I always washed them in a sink with dish washing liquid. :)

I figured you wouldn't to spread glue on your LP's!

Dish washing liquid sounds pretty close shampoo. I've also used liquid hand soap (that stuff that comes in a bottle with a spout on top, that you press down and it squirts soap in your hand), and that works well too. It even works quite well on dirty, scratched CD's.

I can see this method working but what I cannot see is where did someone have the time/inclination and a bottle of wood glue sitting around with some vinyl records and put the two together as a cleaning mechanism?

Especially when mild soap has been a classic cleaner for decades.

People and their dreams of getting famous on uTube....where does it end?

I remember the local radio stations had a record cleaner - It was a turntable with a record arm but the arm had a jet of water. You placed the record on the turntable and the arm used a high pressure jet of water to clean the record as it rotated.
