5.1 Studio Layout

I’ve been busy trying to figure out my studio layout. This is the seventh layout I have come up with and I think it is the one I would like to use. I like that it has good line of sight from every room.
I’m still wondering about the control room layout. I like this design because it gives me a good place to put the door, gives me a lot of space, and would allow me to have my rear speakers on stands. I figure I could add soffit mounts if I felt I needed them down the road. I’m just not sure it would be a good sounding room.
I have thought about doing a control room like Carriage House or Guruland but I’m confused about the rear speakers. In previous posts you guys have suggested that in a small room it might be better to have the rear speakers on stands rather than soffit mounted. If that’s the way to go what would be the best way to alter the carriage House room shape to accomplish this?
I’m also wondering if I should have a floating floor or not. The space has a concert slab and 9 ft ceilings. My budgets not all that big so money is definitely a concern (have you seen the price of plywood lately!). So do you guys think it’s worth doing? If so I’ll do it but I thought I would ask first.
Thanks,
Lief
