Acoustic absorbsion of water?

In my little studio have a large fish tank 6'x3x2. Do you think that the water or glass has any benefits to the acoustics in the room?
just a thought. Id gives me something nice to look at occastionly while im working...

With a 6x3x2 fish tank, you are talking about - at most - 48 ft² of glass and 6 ft² of water? Unless the fish tank is right in the path of sound where the glass could be giving you early reflection problems, it probably won't make much difference. If you do have this situation, it should be easy enough to fashion an absorber to place over the glass when you're mixing. (You can put a picture of a shark on the backside to give your fishes a scare!

I tried this. The filter will drive you to drinking. I couldn't find a quiet enough one for my taste. The Sucking, gurgling, and rumbling.

I dunno about you guys, but glass is one of the worst sounding surfaces to me. It's a necessary evil for windows and sometimes doors, but I wouldn't put any into a tracking or mixing room if I didn't have to. I don't think the water would accomplish much if it's surrounded by glass on 4 or 5 sides either...
I'd leave it out in the lobby.

Put it in the lobby with a video camera on it, buy a 60" flat display for the front of the CR (buy one for ME while you're at it) and you get all the "purty fishies" with none of the noise...

What if those fish aren't familiar with sharks
Mostly fish in such an aquarium are to small for a shark, they got stuck in the holes in his tooth.
I assume a shark must have a difficult task flossing his tooth.
