Minimum recommended control room size

Post by hansp »

I'm planning to build a studio in my basement sometime in near future. I've checked out the designs at sae, and are currently thnking of a design based around the corner control room design.

My room is about 6x7 m.

The studio will be used as much for band rehersals as recording, so a large recoding/live room is required.

The control room will rarely have more than 3 persons in it at once, and I was wondering what will be the minimum required/recommended size of the room.

I was thinking about apx. 4x3,5m with straight walls. If building a corner cr "inside" this, will that be of acceptable size?

Please feel free to make suggestions regarding design of the "facility". I've just started to think a little more serious about it, and been exploring this site the last couple of nights.

I suggest that 5m is the minimum depth from front to rear. Preferably 6 - 7m

cheers

Is that from front to rear corner or to rear bass trap as described in corner cr drawing? Can't go much more than 4,5-5 m with the design I'm thinking of now (if I want to put a full band in the live room), but hopefully I'll find a solution.
