I"v got a small 10x11 apartment studio that I use to make music. I recently got Mackie 624's.

My Q is:
What is a good listening distance for them and how much space should be between the two speakers? I kinda like to have them sit far from each other to hear what's comming out of each one, but I see some studios have their speakers kind of close to each other. Whats right?

Hi nice.

The most common arrangement is for the listening position and speakers to sit at the corners of an imaginary equilateral triangle. With such a small room I suggest keeping the listening position very close - about 3 feet. You also want to move the speakers a couple feet out from the front wall, and put heavy absorption on the rear wall.

You said: "You need heavy absorbtion on the back wall", what frequency are you talking about lows hi or mids? At this time I've got a thick king size foam on it. It does a good on absorbing highs now...
