Yamaha 02R and Tascam mx-2424

Post by seadoobuff »

Hello all, I am fairly new to this forum and have found it very useful so far but am unable to find an answer to my newest problem so figured I would ask.

I currently have a Yamaha 02r and 2 Tascam DA-88's which are now giving problems and need repaired. Instead of spending money on parts for these older machines I may have a great deal on a MX-2424 but wanted to know how to possibly connect it so I could record 24 tracks at one time.

My current setup includes:

Yamaha 02r
2 TDIF cards in 02r (not used)
2 ADTA optical cards in 02r (1 not used)
1 spare TDIF and 1 spare ADAT card in boxes
Presonus 8 channel firestudio pre-amp using optical cable to one ADAT card of 02r
Presonus 8 channel digimax pre-amp using 1/4 outputs to line 9-16 inputs of 02r

I was using the insert I/O jacks from the 02r mic inputs 1-8 and the insert I/O from the digimax preamp to connect to the two DA-88's but want to utilize the digital realm as much as possible.

If anyone can assist with my problem I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks all

Brandon

Hi Brandon and welcome to the forum.

You might find more specific help here:

Another great forum with very knowledgable people. Bear in mind though, they're not Yamaha fans, but I think you'll find them very helpfull.

Hope this helps and good luck with your quest.
