Hi,
I've noticed that this absorber has been used lately in studios. It's apparently got the same properties as rockwool or fibreglass, but it's melded so it doesn't shed. I imagine that would be the melded insulation around the metal cooling/heating ducts we see these days, is it??
Any info on how this product actually compares to r/wool acousticaly (is it really very similar), and where to find it? Is it expensive?

Thnks

Hi Sen
I have used some of the Tontine Acoustisorb2 50mm sheet before which worked well in a wall. You will need to go to 75 or 100mm to get an NRC rating that stacks up compared to the 60 kg density Rockwool. Obviously we are talking in the 125 to 500 range.

Some others might be able to shed some more light on this question though. Maybe check out http://www.tontinefibres.com.au

Cheers :D
