I'm about to soffit mount my Mackie HR824s. I've researched and am aware that speaker height should NOT be half way between floor and ceiling, etc.

In my situation however, the ceiling above my speakers is angled (see photo).

My ear height is about 48". The max ceiling height is 103.5" but is about 89" where the speakers are. All measurements are in the photo.

Also, I did these measurements directly from the concrete slab floor. I will be putting laminate flooring in soon which will probably take about 1/2" off of all the measurements due to it's height.

How would you guys deal with speaker height/room modes in my situation?

the position for the monitors should be their "acoustic center" (typically between the high and low frequency driver but some manufacturers have diagrams) at about 38-42% of the average room height - but it may be that 50% of the height where the monitors go would be OK.

another option is go a bit higher and angle the monitors down. more complex to design construct but more flexible in placement.
