Mackie HR824 and Bagend Infrasub-18 PRO

Post by aschatzb »

Hello, I'm in the process of trying to figure out the best way to set these speakers up to working correctly together...

I've never used a sub before, so I'm trying to understand the best way to utilize the sub and trying to wrap my head around connectivity.

If i send my stereo out of my board and into the sub, then use the built in crossover, I imagine this will take care of the HPF. I would hope the HPF of the Bag End would match well with the Mackies (Would I need to make any adjustments to the mackies?). However, I've also heard that it's nice to be able to bypass the sub using something like the central station (I've also heard people say: "why would you want to bypass if its connected correctly and tuned to your room"

Anyway, I guess these are different schools of thought. So if I decided to be able to bypass the Bag End, I wouldn't know how to correctly set up the mackies to crossover with out the use of the Bag Ends built in crossover.

Any thought:)

thanks!
