Hey

I`m sorry for no updates until know, but i had to stop work bacause of helth reasons for nearly 2 month.
i had a long time in Hospital, risky operations, but fell better know.

i continued the build with 40% last week, to be shure that my body can handle the pressure,and don´t collaps again.
But since i work in a rent place, the time counts against me, and i must be ready for new projekts as soon as possible.
here are the latest pics:
not much progress, but more was impossible

I will work in the studio the weekend, and see what i can move in this time.
The next two weeks i havte to travel to a customer in slovakia for 3 weeks, and after that i will give fullpower in my own build.

I hope to have my first session in the new studio, in November 2009. We will see if it`s possible

i hired a professional wood techikan to help me, and speed up the build......

I`m sure, it will be a great place for recording and mixing at professional level.

everybody who have a look , have to swing the hammer, and the drilling machine for minimum 6 hours

But when you wait until i finish the studio,you`re welcome to the "day of the open doors" with champagne and fingerfood, and alot of fun

The floor in the small recording room (vox booth) is in. Its a 20cm thick sandfilled floated floor ( no concrete, because i had to find a way to use some sand for the reason that recycle it, was to expensive).
Sorry for the missig pics, but i had no camera with me.

Next step are the custom build doors.

Hi friends

Last week i worked on the doors of the controll room and did some soundisolatin tests in the controlroom.


Soundisolation is very good to the foyer and the next rooms, but i still have some problems with the seals.
Until know i use the hardwarestore glueing seals, but they don`t work good. The material is to hard an thin to seal the door good.

I have to look for other seals, but until know i don`t know where to find a working seal for glueing.

Maybee i will use seals on the door and the frame!?, but i`m not shure know.

Good news... the ventilation works pretty good and is quiet. There is NO Sound comeing out of the CR, still with 105db of Rap music.

There is just a little hum from airflow noise in the control room when i run the ventilation at full speed, which is not nessesary until i have 5 people in the room.

Sorry for no Pics, but i will update the photo storry as soon as possible.

I hope that i reach only the 3/4 year limit

I have to open the doors at first oktober week, so end of september i need to have a working place.

But the finishing details can use more time, and are not nessesary for the openig.

jesterday i started with the hangers in the CR front celling and will continue with all the celling hangers today.
Tomorrow i plan to finish the pannel bassabsorbers in the back of CR, and the superchunks at the upper back above the big hangers.

Yesterday the sylomer for the vocal booth arrived. So i can start with the floor of this room next week.

As i said this morning, i worked on the front of the CR. Here is one pic from this evening:












The front hangers are in, and the wallpaper for the front is on.

i did some testes with my flushmounted yamaha msp10.

I had to move alot of insulation to reflection points to get a good response, but the main reason for the tests was to check the basstrapping before i close the corners with fabrics.

The response below 300hz looks ok but far away from good, and i have some bigger problems in the 300 zo 700hz area.
I don`t found the reason jet
This problems i have to fix when the console is in. after that i can do reallife measurements, because that`s all reflection caused combfiltering from floor and desk.


I have still to fix some ringings at 102hz and 75 hz. i found out that i can fix the 102hz ringings with some tuned pannel absorbers on the lower sidewalls under the window and the opposite side of the room. The 75 hz will be trapped at the lower middle of the CR Backwall, also with a tuned pannel.

For my preference the room sounds to dead, so have to bring in some diffusion, to help the midrange and the highs.
