Do you place the slats on key mode points or in between? Reflection pints?
Or just best fit?

Re: Idea for Helmholz resonator/diffusor
Hey John, I'd just like to know if the cavity behind them is a sealed box within the iso envelope, or does it penetrate the ceiling plane, and use space between the ceiling and roof...or what? Although, I'd bet that's one of those.."propietary knowlege" things all studio designers seem to have in their bag of acoustical/iso tricks, eh?.Do you place the slats on key mode points or in between? Reflection pints?

BTW Glenn, great design and renderings. I'd sure like to know how those nearfields are levitated though.

As soon as I recieve my new computer(Tuesday), I'll finally be able to render Sketchups too. Two GTX 480's on an EVGA 3xSLI Classified/i7-975x with 6gig of ram BETTER do the rendering thing... or I'ma gonna be ticked!
alright, breaks over , back on your heads......

you could send them over here and i'll test them out for you. i know you don't need the stresscadesignr wrote:Two GTX 480's on an EVGA 3xSLI Classified/i7-975x with 6gig of ram BETTER do the rendering thing... or I'ma gonna be ticked!

seriously though, you might consider 8gb or even 16gb RAM for the i7. the GTX 480 GPU - check to make sure whatever rendering software you're using will actually take advantage of them. there are some reports they run slower than older cards, maybe just a driver thing.
they're the MagLev Anti-G stands which provide positional accuracy to within 0.00001mm and can self-adjust due to program material, listening height, and head position.cadesignr wrote:I'd sure like to know how those nearfields are levitated though.

or just buy the matching Barefoot monitor stands...
