JB's New Studio, the build thread

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Yes., they are coming!
This is CONTROL ROOM B. being built
Pretty simple. No soffits. just angled slot walls filled with lotz of wool for bass absorption, RFZ zone plus broadband absorption
Front and back wall fully absorptive (2 inches) and superchunks in back wall corners.

Since the entry door was located at the slat wall position, we made a new door, following the slot wall angle.

NOTE. no isolation here. we don't need that thankfully (thick concrete and brickwall). Just room treatment

More to come

Stereo miking. Two heads / cab wired stereo.
Works good for certain music, its very 3D, specially for stereo delays and stuff like that

Yeah Javier, its looking good!

When I start my build I'll have you come wave your magic wand and my build wil be done instantly

I dig the lighting and colors, it gives it a "real deal" feel.

Yes, Eugenio is doing a great work with his control room
Today we are nailing the timber slots and leave them ready for stain.
All that is left is fill the back wall with wool, make the cloth panels for back wall and install laminated flooring and the black fiberglass ceiling and mount the lights

more progress
AC unit installed plus a small fan for leting fresh air get into the room. We are making a small hole into the CR room for passive air circulation. Again, isolation is not an issue as long as the room sounds good, and good mixes come out of it 8)
