Need Some Help With Construction Knightfly...

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

I know someone who hired a couple of guys for $200 to carry the drywall down into his basement. Saved wear and tear on himself and his friends.
