Booth

Post by agent420 »

Im going to use a room upstairs on the opposite side of house of the control room as my iso booth once the other rooms are done.Id like to keep a decent size room downstairs.Upstais will be a reflective room for acoustic guitars, cabinets and what not.I dont want the larger live room to be totaly dead,Id like a nice balance between a reflective iso room and my larger live room.I may also put in a small home made iso box for guitar amps that can go anwhere really. But If I were to reshape the small room I think it would be best If I put any absorbent material on the wall closest to the Live Room and not on the opposite side.I was thinking of having the monitors on the far left side of the control room pointed back towards the door going into the entry way and not pointed at the live room.
Also, the room that we are calling the control room use to have a stereo system in it with 2 way speakers and the bass build up was intese.I was thinking of building a bass absorber box to cover the entire back wall the speakers would be pointing at(so the right wall of the Control Room 11X16)and then using some of ethans bass trabs for the side walls.I will also have rooms on either side to work on to thicken my walls so I dont have to build myself into too small of a room. Also those boxes that were along the wall with the pocket door to the live room are, washer, dryer, stove and refridgerator...pretty much unmovable.
Much thanks for the replies
