Ro's Rehearsal/studio rooms. [stage: build]

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

But where I am, it's already summer, right now! So does that mean it's nearly ready? :)

Dude, it's freakin' winter here. Summer start in June and lasts until September more or less.

It's Windows, but not them Microsoft ones.
Funtime, started trimming the windows and doors frames. It's cheap needle wood, who cares. Gonna paint them glossy white :) The window sill is black as night.

Here's a few images to proof I'm not lying.

This week is Silencer time, have to make four of'm. Half feb my buddy the HVAC expert will come by and connect the air duct stuff. exciting!

Silencers continued.

Added foam inside them silencers, here's a few shots of the outbound front silencer.

Agree with Brien! I'd suggest putting a glass cover on the front of that box, and highlighting that beautiful work of art with some tasteful illumination....

Anyway, there's gonna be a lowfrq absorber in the corner that's going to cover the whole silencer anyway :)

Next week the silencers get connected to some ductwork, exiting!

Is that carpet padding in the silencers?

Well, you just can't see it on the pictures. It's at the TOP of the silencers ;) But, X is right. It's not fully installed yet. :) I'll try to make clear pictures next time.

No, it's agglomerated foam (common name is "Isofix"). This stuff is typically installed in your car-seats. It comes in various densities. Mine is about 60kg/m3. I used this 'cuz it is easy to install (compare that to wool). And, to be frank, I just have a bunch of this stuff as leftover. Might as well use i"t, right!
