Thanks Glenn,

I went ahead and copied the Vicoustic patern,or so i think.

My friend with the CNC machine is mostly available on Sat. and i want to get done with construction so i was wait for your response.

But what do you think of these panels? I plan on puting : Fabric,2'' 703,and a peice of peg board behind that ,i am just copying what they did on the vicoustic.com site and see how that works.

Also they made a claim that the perferated board on the back makes it act like a hemholtz resonator. I thought the back would have to be sealed for that to happen?

Anyone knows where i could find a good D.I.Y OF THESE diffusors.

I want to build a few for my live room.

I'm not sure if this (windows only though) would be of any use, but perhaps worth having a look at it

Its amazing how those 6 clouds make the room sounds,it was a lot ringing when i shout now the decay time is shorter.

I am now working on the window stops,so i am going over the forum trying to learn as much as i can about the window details.

I havent seen any window details for the slot wall kind of windows like this one below.

the window in the slat wall - you have to extend the isolation from the isolation wall to the window and then the slats work around that. depending on how it's built (inside-out the framing takes case of it) or if the slats are deep, then you will need to build out the frame to support the window and isolation mass.

Here is the window with the slots.

Now i am a little concerned about isolaion lost at the window because what i did was build the frame for my slat walls and then use 3/4'' ply to furr out from iso wall.

even though i caulked all around to seal the space behind the slots ,i am wondering now if i will loose some isolation becaus i only used o layer of ply to tie the iso wall and the inner slot frame?

Ohh here is the clouds.

could could add a layer of drywall on top of the plywood? that may suffice. nice work on the clouds.

On a scale of 1- to 10,how much do you think i have to put the layer of drywall?

Just a reminder that there is 703 and pink stuff in the spaces for the slots and there are Hangers on the back side of the big part of window.and its caulked all the way around.

So i was thinking ,dont you think the insulation will dampen the sound that would go right thru the ply?
And it would be going up in between the iso walls to upstairs rigth?

I would have to re-order my glass so if you think i could forgo the layer of sheetrock let me know your thoughts.

What are the sizes ?are they 4'' squares?

Your wall assembly, based on this picture ( http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/downl ... p?id=39502 ) suggests that you have a potential flanking part....like you guys made one framed wall on one sdie, another on the interior side and yet another in the middle?

You ask me that before,it looks weird but again this is what i did.

I have engineer trusses and the middle wall you see is a load bearing wall.Because i couldnt move it or hire engineers to put in a I-beam,what i did was frame out the window and the door way in that wall and made it set back about 1'' all the way around from the new framing on both sides.
In essence making as if it wasn't there in the first place.Which ended up making the space between rooms about 17'' which is good i believe.
So even though it seem as though its in line with the two rooms on either side,if you look close enough you will see its actually 1'' lower so the fabric wrapped 703 will not be touching. Maybe a hair on the sides but dfinately not on top and bottom.

And while your here Brien why dont you help me out with the details on how to do the stops etc.
