Monitor positioning question
Hi guyz.I will be setting up house in a 14ftX18ft room with a 8to12to8 foot pitched ceiling. The ceiling climbs and descends from front to rear.I'm aware of the 38% position and RFZ and all that good stuff.I remembered that the monitors should never be positioned exactly halfway from floor to ceiling.(got a cloud for that). Is it ok to have the total setup somewhat to the left or right of the center of the room? I sort of want to be closer to my rack gear for ease of reach?

Re: Monitor positioning question
Nope. The room needs to be symmetrical, and you need to be in the middle of that symmetry. If not, then you wont get an accurate stereo image, and your mixes most likely wont translate well. So if you need access to your equipment, then design the room so that the equipment is close to you.Is it ok to have the total setup somewhat to the left or right of the center of the room?
