Wiring Patchbay Routing Question

I am wondering what wiring/routing advice would you give for me project studio setup. I have a small tracking room for recording voice overs and dialog, acoustic instruments and some foley type recording. I really never record more than 2 channels at a time. I am placing 4 channels in this room just to be on the safe side.
In my control room I would like to be able to record (direct) electric guitar or electric bass and maybe another stereo input for some sort of misc (ie: turntables...another synth etc).

Im looking to upgrade my interface to allow for more inputs but currently i am using a ULN2 (MetricHalo). So maybe pretend I have something with 8 ins.

I have a couple mic pres and compressors and potentially an eq coming soon.

What would your recommend for a patchbay (if any) and what would you recommend for routing wiring strategy? Thanks for any help.
