mud in the US, what is it called over in the UK

Find out where to get building materials in your local area. If you find a good outlet post it and others will be able to access it through the search engine.

Ive managed to source acoustic sealant fron screwfix in the UK, but what exactly is the "mud" to seal screw holes seams etc. Is it what we call polyfiller. gyproc do a ready mix tub, is that the same stuff as "mud".
iys about £20 for a 20 ltr tub.

It's just called joint compound. You can buy it ready mixed or in powder form from B&Q/Wickes/Focus DIY/etc.
