Home Depot Patio Doors Don't work!
I recently purchased a 5' Jeldwen patio door at Home Depot and can tell you it was a big mistake. The glass is so thin that even speaking near them causes them to ring. Absolutly unusable in a studio. I cut the bottom off to slab install and now can't return it. Don't get taken like I did. I thought I had lurked and read everything on this site and have built a very nice working room up untill now. I can only find one posting about poor dual pane doors and cannot believe I am the first to have this happen. Im out 420.00 bucks plus work. Please create a list of usable patio doors and stickie it. Almost every design shown here uses them. Wish I had the time to post my construction efforts. One year into it and excellent results from info gathered here. Thanks to all who do have the time to share.

Door mistake
Thanks. Ive been there done that so to speak. These links are for your 2000 + dollar sound doors which are nice but Im talking about the glass patio doors shown used on all these do it yourself designs. I know that a Pela one from Lowes will work as well as an Anderson. I am just pointing out that not all will and that has cost me and should be common knowledge here so that others are saved from the curse of Home Depot.kendale wrote:Aloha,

Update on door
Just wanted to update my door saga. I realized I had a 5' patio door leading onto the back deck of all places. After some very well thought out and persuasive talk I was allowed to switch said door with the Jenweld one. Glad I did as it was poorly installed with no caulking to begin with. Results are excellent. I now have a working solution and can move on to building the islolation room and will get the next door at someplace else. I will still get other stuff there as Home Depot is less than 1/2 a mile away. I would also highly recommend
