Where to get wall plates?

Find out where to get building materials in your local area. If you find a good outlet post it and others will be able to access it through the search engine.

Where to get wall plates?

Post by SaltyDawg »

Hello, I am going to be setting up 2 recording rooms. These will both be adjacent to my control room. So I need some way of getting the mic and headphone cables thru the walls.

I was thinking the simplest solution would be a wall plate that has an male XLR jack, and a headphone jack. The other side of the wall plate would have a female XLR jack and a headphone jack.

That way, I could drill a couple holes, get a small, high quality, XLR and headphone cable, and put a wall plate on each side of the wall (connected with the small cables).

So far, the only wall plates I can find that are even close are lacking the connectors on the backside. They have a male XLR and headphone jack on 1 side, and on the back they have a bunch of bare connectors that would require soldering a cable.

In the interest of sound quality I would prefer not to solder anything. I would rather have a wall plate that only has a single connector, but has 2 sides to the connecter. That way I can get high quality cables, that have high quality connectors, and just plug it in.

Does anyone know if there is anything like this for sale?
