I have come across a local supplier of "Solomit" acoustic straw panels, which look similar to what Sjoko used in his new studio. It is available in both 25mm and 50mm thicknesses and various size sheets. Pricing is approx., $26 per sq. mtr.
To your knowledge, what are the best uses for this material in studios?

Yes - it is the same as Sjokos. He had his made in the US under licence to the aussie company I think. He swears by it - thinks it's great because it absorbs like rigid fibreglass but still allows some diffusion in the high end.
He's used it everywhere at his place so I'd use it in place of rigid fibreglass. PLUS it looks cool without haveing to cover it with cloth :)
