Yeah,

Codes has gotten pretty stringent on things up there in the NW. (I'm originally from just across the river (Vancouver)).

Don, I think that may be only for older construction; newer NEC (which most cities follow) requires a full 20 foot length of rebar embedded in concrete during pour, with a connection point bonded to that and protruding out of the concrete for ground bus attachment.

My comment about copper pipes only referred to them being BONDED to the ground system, not REPLACING it; although that IS one of the NEC options, assuming (of course) that, as you said, the rest of the system isn't PLASTIC :? Steve
