Some help

Post by Flaco »

Hi all. I'm very happy to found this forum. Thanks
I have a little office 5x5 mts. I have read this: "another 20 x 20 x 10 garage design. would this work?" post
It's possible to fit this plan in my little space?
Will it work?
I don't have nuch money to go to any other place.
Thanks again, from Bogotá, Colombia

Yeah possibly Ricardo - 20 ft x 20ft is 6.1m x 6.1m so you are a meter short either way.

A basic idea

Post by Flaco »

Hi. Thank for your answer.
Here, I have a basic draw with the idea of the plan in the 20x20 studio.
The big question is what to do with the window at the lef(north) side?
May be build a interior wall with drywall? I like the natural ligth!
I can close the bath and use it as an storage area, with sliding isolation.
In the same floor (5th) we have common bathrooms.
In the east side in, out the office, is free, no close to anything, only air.
In the south there are stairs and free area to all the floor.
At west i have anothe office, close to the door.
Bye, Ricardo

Hi John. Thank for your time-help.
I really like the "hall" area close to the outdoor. This way there are no "music" spaces close to the exterior.
May be this... Here I have the music away that door.
Also I have the bath room in the control.
The big question it's about the window isolation in the studio-vocal area. This office it's in the 5th floor, and i don't have near any building.
The ceiling is 2.44 mts with those T aliminium.
I'll take some pictures and i'll post later.

My principal recordings are acoustical, guitars, folk instruments, vocals, and some time percussion!

Thanks again.

Hi. It's too bad the drop ceiling?
About the window I was thinking in a module half heigth like drywall+fiberglass, and the other half with double glass. Can work?
Can I use the acoustic treatment as in the "example"? (20*20*10 feet)
Bye

The drop ceiling isn't a real problem - how much height above it??
Yes you can sort out the window easily.
Yes you can use the treatment in the 20 x 20 studio.

Above the ceiling i have 49 cms, and the are some structural columns +/- 25 cms.
I was thinking to change the actual ceiling ceiling with (again) drywall and fiberglass. http://www.johnlsayers.com/Studio/Image ... Up3/11.jpg

That will give you the STC you are looking for. That space 49cm would take a few hangers ;):)

Hi John.
It's me again.
I was thinking in this option
Blue=Control
Green-vocal
Red=studio
Blue=Hall
Pin=doors
It will be ok?:?:
