How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Do you guys think it would be stupid to try to make some recording booth there the hight up to the "beams" (I´m not even shure if it is the right word, but you know what I mean) is only 160 cm I think it´s like 5.25 feet..
Just tell me if it´s a stupid idea, and if you have idea what I should do!!
thanks from Iceland

Svenni, welcome; with that low a ceiling, probably the best you can do is to put thick rockwool or heavy fiberglass between the beams, preferably at or near the bottom; this would absorb bad reflections and help make the room sound "taller" - something like 48 kG per cubic meter rockwool, or same density rigid fiberglass insulation, 75mm thick or more, with some sort of frame across the bottoms of those beams to keep it in place.

It's a good thing you play drums sitting down... Steve
