Diver suit neophrene for floating floor??

Hi, yesterday, my brother bought a piece of neophrene in a diver dressing shop. But this piece has cloth on both sides of neoprhene. Is composed by 1 mm grey cloth + 6 mm neophrene + 1 mm black cloth.

There is any problem in using it for floating floors?? Does that cloth disturb?

The cloth shouldn't be a problem; what is likely wrong with using that is thickness and hardness. 6mm is only about 1/3 to 1/4 the thickness you need, and the neoprene normally used for dive suits is SOFT, more of a neoprene FOAM - the neoprene for floated floors should be 60 durometer hardness, where the stuff for dive suits is probably around 10-20 duro at most... So, it doesn't work?? I spend 60€ in this piece!! And I don't find neoprene in other shops:(:( . If I put 4 layers of this neoprene it doesn''t works??

Can I use it for anything??

You should be able to cut strips of it and use 3 or 4 strips each side of your window glass for seals; but you will need the RIGHT stuff for the rubber the glass actually RESTS on, or it will sag too much.

this neoprene is good for isolation?? I can't find the durometer that you say.

On that page, the number next to "shore" is the same as durometer; if you intend to use you facility longer than about 8-10 years, I would use the EPDM material at 68 shore.

If you need them, I have weights of several materials - or you could ask your sources, just in case they are different materials... Steve
