MDF

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

MDF

I've seen a lot of recommendations for using MDF on various assemblies such as soffit facing and such. A site on the net (www.design-technology.org) suggested that "formaldehyde is always being slowly released from the surface of MDF".
Is this a concern in the studio? Is it recommended to completely paint all surfaces to prevent this? I'll probably be using this on my studio if it's available here, so I'd like to be aware of any precautions to take.

Only on certain types. It depends on what you are calling MDF. The finished/laminated surface product is not a problem. In either case, you will probably primer/seal it.

Worst case scenario, you are already preserved when you die from the fumes.

There is a company that makes formaldehyde free MDF. (can't think of it off the top of my head), but it does exist. Do a google search, and it'll come up.
