XLR Female Connectors

Post by kidego32 »

Hi All,

I'm getting ready to solder XLR female connectors to a 16-pair mogami snake cable. Problem is, I'm not sure which connector to buy.

This is for a wall panel in the live room. I've looked at the Neutrik site, and under the Chassis connector there are many different types. Can anyone guide me in the right direction and help me choose between the A Series, B Series, AA Series, etc.?

Thanks,

Jules

What type of panel are you putting them into? Do you need male or female? or both? If you have a prepunched panel, they will usually tell you what type of connector is needed (eg: D ring). The main difference is how the holes line up for attaching the connector. I'll post some of the most common connectors shortly.

OK,

Here's what you probably want. These are the most commonly used connectors.

For Female: NC3FP (any version. The -1 is just nickle, -B-1 is black metal housing and gold contacts, and the -Bag -1 is a black housing w/ silver contacts.)

And these are compatible w/ switchcraft xlr's.

Hope this helps.

That's exactly what I was looking for.
