My Rough Studio Layout

Post by benbrackett »

Here's a very ROUGH, ROUGH, ROUGH layout of my studio. I was just wondering what some of the basic acoustic treatment is going to be needed, in terms of diffusers, absorbers, etc. in reference to where each instrument is going to be located.

NOTE: Each wall is going to be slanted about 6 degrees to avoid anything running parralell.

Hi Mate - you must start thinking in scale - i.e. the size of things relative to the dimensions :)

he's your plan as I'd look at it - doing it to scale. I took the scale from your drawing and the scale you had in your sdr file. is that the correct dimension fro the top wall ??

cheers

Thanks for writing up a new floor plan. That's probably what I'm going to follow more closely. In the top right corner of the 12'' wall, there's a door leading a laudnry room, which I'm probably going to use for my entrance, but other than that, this new plan looks perfect! I'll be posting pics of the actual room soon, so it might give you a better idea of what I'm working with. Sine I'm building a room within a room, I'm prbably going to sacrifice about a foot of the perimeter (which shouldn't matter much). So the actual shape of the room is going to be slanted on each wall by about six degrees. I have a pitched roof (two slants ^ ), so is there gonna be any more acoustic treatment I need in the control room besides those two bass traps (other than what can only be determined by testing the actual room)?
