Okay, the normal junction boxes I can get at home depot only extend 5/8" beyond the mounting flange used for fastening it to the stud. That's fine for normal walls, but I'm doing RC, and two layers of drywall, one 5/8" and the other 1/2" so my wall will actually protrude more than an inch from the stud. Where can I ge junction boxes with longer boxes? Or else how can I mount the standard boxes so that the box itself will be flush with the finished wall?
Thanks!

I recently dealt with this, only on a non-rc wall.
If your putting in a quad box, use one of the normal square type metal box.
2nd, you'll need an extension (they're about 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" (can't remember))
3rd, depending on which layer of sheetrock is last (1/2" or 5/8"), you attach the mud ring to this.
Let me see if I can come up w/ some pictures.

Yes, they come in a single outlet type. They will probably still be a 4" back box, but the front mud ring will be different.
