single door with glass used as a control room window

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Maybe try a building salvage yard. They usually have various doors. I don't know if a metal/glass sliding door would be perfect for a window in a control room, but I would think it would be cheap at a salvage yard.

To get effective isolation you will need good seals on the door. Check the prices so that you are not shocked once you start building.
