Leasing Studio that has already been built, Wiring Help

Post by chhunter12 »

I just recently took over a Lease on a studio from a previous owner. The studio seems to have been built somewhat correctly. My question is, I want to run a snake box and a couple of other cables from my live room and vocal booth to the control room. I'm wanting to know the best way for doing this, to keep the soundproofing as solid as possible. The Snake cable isn't huge, its just getting the terminals through the prebuilt wall. I would remove them, i just don't trust my soldering skills to mess up something that already perfectly works. i have some images to give a visual of what i mean. It looks as if the last owner had mounted panels, but of course the removed that and the pre ran cables.

you could cut a hole in the booth wall using a circular saw (say 1") and another, offset 12" or so, in the CR wall. then pass the snake through, and use putty pads to seal around the wiring. if you have the option to inset a flex conduit, that would make this overall neater.
