Vocal Booth Design

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Vocal Booth Design

Post by itspronouncedoshay »

Good evening. I'm working on building a vocal booth with non parallel walls based on a design made by Vocalbooth Inc. What I am struggling with in my mind is how to connect the parts of the wood frame for my floor that aren't at a 90 degree angle. I'm aware of miter saws only cutting about 45-50 degree angles. Is anyone able to give me some suggestions? I've attached pictures of the dimension. I'm looking to create the 10 carat one.

not sure if this response matters now but here goes:
you can think of the booth as multiple flat panels, and you connect them with ripped 2x or 4x lumber to facilitate joining the panels. see example.
