Floor and Ceiling Composite Design for Lower Ground Studio

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Floor and Ceiling Composite Design for Lower Ground Studio

Post by famadorian »

I need feedback on my ceiling design.

The studio is on the lower ground floor and general living quarters are on the ground floor.

This ceiling is part of a Room Within a Room construction and I need pointers as to how I can further increase the soundproofing. I want to be able to have loud music and bass and not being able to hear it above on the ground floor. Likewise, I don't want footstep noise coming down into the studio.

I'm sorry but I can't understand what your drawing is.
Can you please label what the layers are as the chart on the left is confusing and hard to read.

cheers
