Hello .
It's my first post on this forum so i will try to do my best to be clear and efficient.
I'm a sound engineer and i do a lot of studio installation : wiring , computer setup, hardware setup.
I attended a lot of studio construction but I have never done the design from the beginning.
Last year i make all the installation of a private production , the problem was the room, 3.24 X 4.09 and only 2.04 ceiling.
The room have some acoustic treatement with some pack like auralex or vicoustic but not enough to be really efficient.
I tell my client that it's would be very difficult to have a good sounding room in this particular room .
Now one year later he thinks to move to another place in his garage and making a true acoustic treatement.
The goals a good sounding room with the better bass reponse possible , he make electronic music and the bass management is very important
He use Barefoot Micromain 27 as speaker.
The studio needs no soundproofing only an acoustic treatment.
The probleme is the ceiling ... only 2.04 m (204cm)
There is two place where we can do the studio ( see the picture below), , This is a large garage which would be divided into two parts.
At the moment there is no separation so everything is possible, I think that the most appropriate would be part of the right.
What do you think is the best?
Is it preferable to make a hard concrete separation , or to make this separation by a bass trap of significant size ?
Thanks
David Bardot

Re: Construction of a production studio in a garage
Hi there David, and Welcome!
Why is the ceiling so low?
Wow. That's low! Is there any possibility of raising the ceiling, or maybe lowering the floor? The probleme is the ceiling ... only 2.04 m (204cm)
Do they both have the same restriction on height? There is two place where we can do the studio
I agree. But if the other side has a higher ceiling, then that would be better.I think that the most appropriate would be part of the right.
