Small studio design in france

Post by alex95250 »

Hello Every one, my name is Alex, i have 26 years old and i live in france (i apologize in advance for my bad english).

I study in SAE paris and for my memory of the last year i decide to make the acoustic of my studio (measurment, calcul, design and construction).
I read lot of topics on this website but i don't find a response of many question i wondering, i hope you will help me to find these response.

So this is my project:

I have 3 room in my studio:

-a small control room
-a recording room of 20m2
-a room with sofa and WC

I need help to design the control room.
for the front and the 2 angle wall i decide to design slot resonator, i think is good because i will can move the slot after the measurment.
for the celling i will made an angle slot resonator ceiling or instal panel absorber to avoid the early reflection. (the ceiling is 2m height).
For the side wall i don't know what i can do, in first i wanted to instal angle wall slot resonator but the widht of the room is very small (2m widht),also i don't know how i can calculate the minimum angle of the side wall to avoid first reflection on the sweet spot.
For the rear wall i will instal slot resonator or diffuser.

So my 1st question is how i can calculate the minium angle for the side wall and the ceiling to avoid the 1st reflection in the sweet spot.

Also, i want to have a windows between the control room and the record room (on the left side) but the acoustic will be compromise with a windows, especially in a very small control room, so do you think it will be a good idea? actually i just have a talkback between the 2 room and it does the job, but a window is very practical.
The 2nd solution i thought is to install two webcam with screen to communicate.

For the side wall i thought juste fiberglass with cloth and panel absorber on the 1st reflction point (with mirror method) but i'm afraid to absorb too much high frequency.

Additional information:

For the moment is a concret floor, due to the height i can't make an absorber floor, i read some post in this forum and apparently carpet is not a good solution (i don't know why) so i will make a late floor.

My speaker is yamaha hs50m, the event is on the rear, that's why i don't made a soffit mounted.

The desk won't have foot, he is support directly by the wall.

I tried to respect the rule of 38%, for the room dimension, in some case i can't respect a good ratio so i must do with this.

I was inspired of some studio container like spark1 and other because i have almost the same dimensions (except the longer).

thank you in advance for your reply.

After read a post about the 38% i think i made a mistake, i design the sweet spot at 38% of the front concret wall and not at the front slate resonator wall, can you tell me if its correct please?
