Hi, my room is pretty small were I do all my recording and mixing. The only way to fit all my gear is to have my desk in a Corner which means that my monitore boxes both stand in the corners. about 3inces away from the wall...
I know that this is not very good. So my question is. What is there that I can do to make it better???
Puting the speakers more in the room is not an option. I was thinking if there was some accustic treatments that I could do to make it better !?!?!
Thanks for your time and thanks for a great forum !

If you have enough room to build across the corner- a 45 degree flat face instead of a 90 degree corner- then there's hope. Strap rigid fiberglass insulation across the corner, per Ethan Winer's recommendations in his FAQ, and then stuff that corner with as much insulation as you can.
The trouble with putting a mixing desk in a corner like that is that sound will go back that way, reflect off one wall at 45 degrees, then hit the other wall at 45 degrees and be coming right back at you. If you can insulate the hell out of that corner (the lows will be the biggest problem, so don't skimp!) you might be able to get away with it. You'll need the insulation-wall to be at least as wide as your monitor speakers are spaced, or they'll bypass the insulation.
If your room is square, and there's nothing else you can do in this space, it won't be so bad. If your room is NOT square, this'll be making the most of a bad situation- which is what it sounds like you're doing anyway.
Do what you can with this spot, and keep your eyes open for a better place to mix in.
Hope this helps...

Yeah, I agree about the corner treatment. I would also suggest putting a double thick layer of rigid fiberglass on the walls directly behind the speakers. Otherwise, you'll get a lot of midrange comb filtering.
