If you go haywire with that mesh you could build yourself a faraday cage ^^

I'm running into a problem: where I'm located, supplies of pink fluffy stuff are depleted and for some reason won't be available in a while....
would 18kg/m3 fiberglass do as a substitute? If not, is there another option?
Thanks for all your suggestions
Cheers

That's a little bit on the light side. Ideal is about double that, for fiberglass.

Another option would be mineral wool ("Rock wool"). That should be around 48 kg/m3.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, I want to clarify that my question was referring to pink insulation as mentioned by Glenn here:
gullfo wrote:If you put the rigid insulation about 2" in behind the slats and cloth, then lightly fill the remaining space with pink insulation.
I understand that Glenn is telling me that the rigid insulation is around 40kg/m3, and pink insulation is much lighter (IIRC it's around 12kg/m3).
So, I want to know if I can substitute pink insulation≤ with 18kg/m3 fiberglass. Please confirm :)
Thanks

Danke schone Glenn. You're my hero!!!!! 8)
I was so worried I had to rent a van to go to the nearest big town (200km away) to bring pink stuff.....so that's great news!!!

I have nearly completed filling the rear wall. Going for the slat walls this week, although I'm gigging quite a bit so it'll be slow.
I had to raise a bit the speaker boxes (about 6cm) as they were a bit low for me.
Thanks again for everything. I'll keep you posted soon

Cheers

So now I'm filling the ceiling with wool and stapling plastic sheet on it.....bloody nightmare if you ask me!!! But the end is NEARER.....
I'm worried about stapling the fabric and making it look really nicely finished, but one thing at a time and we'll see when we get there next week. Then I'll have the clouds left and putting the gear in.....can't wait...

Oh yes, indeed!!
The sound is getting better, clearer, and awesome, apart from the ground to ceiling flutter. I have done roughly 20% of the ceiling and when I hum/scream underneath it it's amazing. The most funny thing that never ceases to amaze me everytime I build a room (well, this is my third one only, hehe) is the way you can hear the different unfinished parts, i.e: with the door open and underneath the treated ceiling I can hear flutter from the rest of the untreated ceiling/ground and I can hear the reverb coming from the garage next door
Basically, I can't wait to finish the ceiling to be able to hear the room come alive when I put the slats 8)
I'll keep you posted :)

Sorry I've been silent for a while: I've been gigging quite a bit and the studio has been on stand-by.
But I'm back at it now. I finished covering the ceiling with wool and plastic sheet. I'm about to cover it with the fabric.
I'll try to post photos this week.
Cheers
